Hosted by Beylikdüzü Municipality at Smart B, the Women Entrepreneurs in Technology talk brought together Polyprintt founder Dilek Bartın and Factory of Us founder Betül Karaca for an open and inspiring conversation on entrepreneurship, 3D printing, and R&D-driven production.
During the talk, we focused on the less visible side of entrepreneurship—uncertainty, limited resources, long development cycles, and the pressure to keep going despite repeated setbacks. As women entrepreneurs operating in technology and manufacturing, we shared how resilience, persistence, and belief in the idea are essential to moving forward.
Dilek Bartın explained Polyprintt’s journey in developing innovative 3D printing materials and the intensive R&D behind them. Betül Karaca then shared how these materials are transformed into functional and ergonomic furniture at Factory of Us.
From understanding material behavior to adjusting printing parameters and testing durability, the audience gained a full picture of what end-to-end digital production really looks like.
Failed prints, unexpected deformations, countless iterations, and moments of doubt were openly discussed. R&D is rarely smooth, but every failure carries valuable data. When the system finally works and a high-quality product emerges, that moment of success makes every challenge worthwhile.
This talk highlighted the strength of collaboration between a material-focused startup and a design- and production-oriented furniture brand. The partnership between Polyprintt and Factory of Us demonstrates how local production, agile R&D, and sustainability-focused thinking can come together to shape the future of manufacturing.
We would like to thank Beylikdüzü Municipality and Smart B lead by Ertuğrul Erbay for creating a space that supports innovation and women-led entrepreneurship. As more women take active roles in technology and production, the future of manufacturing becomes not only more advanced—but also more inclusive and meaningful.
